| Comments: |
We had one of the toughest hikes so far this winter breaking 6" of snow down lower and 12" higher up. The steeper parts approaching either summit were particularly difficult due to back sliding. 2 of us started on skis then switched to snowshoes for the hike up Scaur Ridge trail. 3 others used snowshoes from the start. The trail is still loose and unconsolidated even after we went over it on our return trip and the winds were very high so some of it may be blown in quickly. |
