i parked at the sand pond boat launch off of west shore road in marlow. not well plowed, but well enough for a number of cars to park as of today. a bit of a berm pulling in. |

i walked for a few minutes along west shore road to a long stretch of undeveloped woods on the south side of the road where i launched a bushwhack towards huntley. good open woods and no prohibitions noted. good snowshoeing with moderate breaking as the snow was somewhat supportive. i knew of the footpath on the mountain and once i started the ascent i crossed it and followed it to the summit. seemed to be better marked than a few years ago. i returned in my tracks. |
