Not the clearest of days but temps warmed up to the low 20's making it a nice hike to the top. In spite of the clouds, views of the Lakes were spectacular from all viewpoints. Only one other hiker in front of us when we started, but then scads of them marching up while we descended. Trail is in excellent shape. Barebooted all the way up and down on a hard packed surface. A few other hikers were using snowshoes and a couple were wearing microspikes. To each his own. It all works. A tiny bit windy at the top, but otherwise, a very nice day to be hiking. |
