Used snowshoes for entire hike. 2 to 4 inches of fresh snow on top of packed trail. I lost count of how many hikers and skiers I saw going up while I was going down, somewhere around 50 or more in different groups and some solo. Saw people on snowshoes, barebooting, light traction and five skiers. So I saw trail get packed then rototilled up then packed and chewed up and so on... Beautiful day for hiking. Breathtaking, clear views from Garfield summit. |
