|
 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at a bump out about .6 miles from the Four Corners at Orange and Washburn Roads. Woods Road was only 100 yds back toward the Four Corners. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
One snow bridged and several easy to step over. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple of minor blow downs easily bypassed. There was one section that the blue diamond markers were sparse in our direction but by turning around we had confirmation that we were still on the trail. It seems that without snow this trail would be easy to follow. Another section seems to be in the process of being re-routed but there were ample blue flagging to follow. |

 | Comments: |
Started on the Woods Road until the Blue Diamond and Yellow Diamond markers split. We followed the Blue all the way to the ledges and then for some reason they ended and Yellow painted blazes took over and continued to recognized summit marked by a small cairn (nearly covered in snow). Returned in our same tracks. Snow was about 6" on a crusty base. (Thanks Lady B for your great report). I will be returning to this wonderful area when the views will reward us, today was a foggy day with limited visibility. This whole area is a Conserved property managed by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and has a great trail system. |
