Comments
Comments: To my knowledge: 3 of us when out and back on bonds from the south and three traversed Bonds/Zealand. Snowshoes are a must. Very nice snowshoeing on the ridge. I skied in 4.5 mi. or so and then wore snowshoes for the rest of the hike. There was fairly good snow-cover with a thick crust and blue ice going over Bondcliff.

To return I bushwhacked from the Bond/Bondcliff col, down about 1/2 mi. to hit the Bondcliff trail at the north end of the bend around 3,500 feet. Initially the route was above treeline, then I pushed in sub-alpine forest. Lots of traps were present, but the snow was fairly supportive. I didn't have to go far before the woods opened up and I had a good steep powder decent. I enjoyed this cutoff, though it could be harder without snow or with less supportive snow.
