Peaks
Peaks Potash Mountain, NH
Trails
Trails: Mt. Potash Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Saturday, February 8, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The Downes Brook Trailhead lot is plowed white. It can get crowded. The access road is wide enough for only one car (NOT one car each way), so drive carefully.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable)
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes, Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The water crossing that the White Mountain Guide warns about is entirely bridged over and easy to cross. The access road that the Guide recommends using to avoid said crossing, however, is covered in snow. This is the season to climb Mt. Potash and not deal with said pesky water crossing.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There were lots of fallen or broken trees but none were actually on the trail.

Comments
Comments: The trail was packed firm by skiers and snowshoers. I wore my snowshoes the whole way but barebooting may be possible. Did not attempt butt-sliding.
