Nice little hike to redline Timber Camp and another bite of Greeley Ponds. Livermore is groomed, natch, and I was the first set of snowshoes on GP since the snow, although it had seen a bit of ski traffic. I was fooled by the ski tracks and did fuss around a bit at the spot where the trail turns away from the river before I remembered the relocation; ignore my killing and proceed uphill to the (soft) left. Broke trail from there to High Camp: a few inches of nice fluffy powder atop a mildly annoying but non-problematic ice crust atop some other redliners’ tracks from last week(end). Very pretty views from High Camp and the gravel bank; I liked this one a lot! Passed several skiers and a very few snowshoers on GP on my way back; everyone who mentioned a destination was heading for the ponds. |
