| Comments: |
Lonesome Lake Trail to the lake was solid and packed, even with an alleged foot of new snow the day before.
Hi-Cannon trail was very lightly traveled, unpacked, drifted.
Dodge Cutoff at upper end was unbroken.
Around-the-Lake Trail at Hut was completely drifted in and unbroken to the Lonesome Lake Trail.
Cascade Brook Trail at Lonesome Lake junction was drifted, had probably seen one or two travelers at 11AM, one or two more by 1PM. Snowshoes needed.
Fishing Jimmy Trail was packed out in both directions from the hut, which suggests that Cascade Brook was packed from FJ to the TH.
Across-the-Lake Trail was firm but unconsolidated drifts and excellent for snowshoes in the AM, but was a churned mess from spikes and barebooters by noon.
Saw many, many, people not even carrying snowshoes as I was descending after noon. All 3 approaches to the hut from the LLT/DCO/CB junction really needed snowshoes for pleasant traversal. Anyone who decided to take Lonesome Lake Trail to Around The Lake was very disappointed. |
