| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Due to logging, temporary parking lot on York Pond Rd approx 0.8 miles past bridge at Fish Hatchery (about 1.1 mi walk to York Pond trailhead). Room for 6-8 cars. It's well-marked, so no issues seeing where the road is closed to logging. Active logging right at York Pond trailhead. Signs point to the short re-route to get to York Pond Trail, since the usual parking lot is filled with logs. |

| Comments: |
York Pond Road is icy both for driving and walking. Hillsound spikes helpful for the approx 1.1 mile roadwalk, very slick. We used Hillsounds for the duration of hike on well-packed and consolidated track. Snowshoes stayed on pack. Of course now with the current snowstorm, conditions will be sure to change and snowshoes ideal. Posting this to update the parking info, as no trail reports for a few weeks. Beautiful, full sun day out there with Vicki, Dick and Eva. |
