Comments
Comments: The Ammonusic was well packed with trace amounts of new snow was able to use microspikes until crossing Gem Pool at which time I switched to snowshoes for duration of my hike. The trail to the hut was well packed and seemed ice free. It was a little hard to follow after breaking treeline with near zero visibility and high winds. The Monroe loop trail was equally difficult to follow as do to visibility there were expected drifts but no real depth. After descending Monroe back toward hut I took the Crawford Path to Monroe Loop. The trail was drifted and navigation was tough. As I ascended Eisenhower the skies cleared up substantially and trail was very easy to follow with light snowcover and cairns visible. Between Eisenhower and Pierce there was some heavily drifted spots but was broken out. Webster Cliff trail to summit of Pierce was well broken out and Crawford down to Highland Center was a superhighway.
