Trail conditions are great right now. We used spikes only along the Rocky Branch trail the EH whack and the short section of the Isolation trail and then put on snow shoes for the other bushwhack which had about 4-6 inches of new snow and kept them on until our return to the Isolation trail.
The bushwhack is still soft so you will need snow shoes for this section. The current Engine Hill track is about a 100+ feet lower than last time I did this hike but it’s solidly packed. I think I like the higher 3200+ foot route better - keeps you high with a shorter walk on the Isolation trail. Limited views but a nice day with mild temps again. |
