Crampons and ice axe needed for the slide. Microspikes are fine for everything else since we currently have the nicest trail conditions I've seen in many years. glissaders/buttsledders smoothed out the trail, so I ended up cutting some steps for myself. With a nice set of crampons and young legs you many not need any. I took some of the bypasses in the woods when I got tired of cutting steps, although I had to cut a few in there as well. |
