Parked at Waterville Valley ski area. I arrived early and got a spot right across from the trailhead. Woo-hoo! |

The sign for the Sosman trail is gone. The bolts in the tree remain but the sign is gone |

The Mt. Tecumseh trail was pretty much a packed sidewalk ( aka hard pack snow ). Light traction was what I used but I did see a few people bare booting. As of this posting....I would leave the snowshoes in the car. There were a few spots of ice that were either easily avoidable or manageable with micro spikes. Not much snow down low near the ski area but it felt more like winter at the summit. Not very cold on the summit but it was more like Feb there than at the trailhead. Views were limited but I did get to watch a pair of red crossbills playing in the snow. |
