2 peaks summited Mt. Pierce over to Mt. Eisenhower. Although by lunch time Eisenhower was shocked in the clouds we had some views from Pierce and more importantly there was plenty of SNOW! Wow great conditions for hiking, temp stayed in the low 20s, no wind and a few Grey Jays making it an even better experience. Went up the Crawford Path across from the Highland Center to Pierce, and hopped on the Appalachian Trail over to Ike. The AT was loose powder not as packed as Crawford but light traction was fine, snowshoes took a free ride. |
