Low 30's no wind perfect conditions. 1st 2 miles of Rocky Branch steep, no breaks. Levels off to Wilderness sign. Wet muddy through here. About 2/10 mile past sign Whack starts, Rocky Branch well broken out past this point, how far not sure. The whack is well broken out, maybe 5 minutes in we came to an intersection. Left looked more broken out but we went right. Anyone know where the left goes? We never saw it reconnect. Snow is less consolidated. Birch glades are an amazing sight....beautiful. Trail is narrow back in woods. Views on top amazing. Southern Prezis Oakes Gulf....beautiful. Comfortable temps, no wind. Fairly quick trip back, Rocky Branch is not broken out where the whack starts.
Snowshoes all day....leave spikes at home. Congrats Kevin #46 |
