Date of Hike: Saturday, February 1, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: No problems.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Stable)
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water crossings were easily passable with snow bridges, but late in the day they started to get a bit unstable. I think too many more warm days and they might become a problem.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple blow downs were easy to get around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn’t see any dogs all day.
Bugs
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: We found an item, but we also found the owner.

Comments
Comments: The temperature got above freezing as the day wore on and some postholing started happening. Stony Brook was more solid than Carter-Moriah, as the latter had some loose snow. I would definitely recommend that if the temperatures stay high, bring snowshoes as the solidity of the snowpack will start to break down.
