| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lincoln Woods USFS parking (fee) was well plowed, though icy. About 4 other cars there early morning; about the same late afternoon. |

Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow - Drifts |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Low down numerous drainages were still flowing and open - easy to negotiate. The three Lincoln Brook Trail crossings on this route were all adequately snow-and ice-bridged. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Signage seemed okay. There were a couple of duck/crawl under blowdowns on the unmaintained Owl's Head Path, but they were not too troublesome. |

| Comments: |
Lincoln Woods Trail was easily bare-booted. Black Pond Trail was also easily bare-booted. Both of these trails had some ice, but for now it is almost all under snowcover. There was a good snowshoe track on the Black Pond bushwhack; the line seemed a pretty good one, and came out right at the big Lincoln Brook crossing (which is avoided by taking this bushwhack). The Lincoln Brook Trail also had a good, occasionally drifted, snowshoe track. The Brutus Bushwhack also had been tracked and seemed to follow a good line. There was a somewhat drifted track along the ridge to the summit. More snow, and softer snow, at the higher elevations. All in all - for the moment -- conditions are pretty good, though it still makes for a long day. |
