 | Comments: |
Snow was fairly soft at lower elevations and I was surprised to see there was probably less than 6 inches along the ski trails. The trail up to Galehead hut is very well traveled and packed down. The route up the South Twin was also (thankfully) well-packed. Between the South and North Twin there were footprints but the snow was very soft with several drifts. I'd try to keep on the rocks at the South Twin summit - there are lots of spruce traps along the East side of the rocks.
Also be aware you may run into snowmobilers on the brief stretch of Gale River Road between Beaver Brook Ski Trails and Gale River Trail. |
