Barebootable to Osceola trail. Crampons needed past that point. Due to thick ice a ice axe would be a good idea. Had to turn around after brother slid 20ft down exposed face. He performed a miraculas self arrest, but broke a finger in the process. Was about 200 ft from summit, just not worth the risk with snow and 50-60mph winds up high. |
