Comments
Comments: The trail is in great condition as is the spur trail to Bald Peak. I used micro spikes all the way (although Hillsounds would have offered better traction) and my husband wore snow shoes. The trail was somewhat unconsolidated in places so snowshoes would have been better, but I am not a fan of the weight and awkwardness of them. But there was no post holing so light traction was very doable. We saw people in either light traction or snowshoes. One note: we had a few occasions where couples were moving quickly down the trail and made no attempt to give us the right of way (as per hiking etiquette) and this became especially problematic when we were negotiating some steep pitches on the way up. Otherwise, we enjoyed pleasant conversation with lovely fellow hikers!
