Used snowshoes up ammo from the parking lot for easy traction - some drifting as you approach the hut. The trail meanders a bit above treeline, but is discernible from all the recent traffic. Monroe is not yet a solid white ramp - needs more snow. Used hillsound microspikes from the hut to Monroe and it was a bit bony up top. No issues with snowfields heading up to George - spikes did great. Went down the cog due to great reports - there was no ice and a nice butt slide in places. Great day with great company. |
