Water Crossing Notes: All firmly bridged and you can hear the water flowing under the bridges.

Bugs: Tons of snowfleas, especially once the sun came out. Saw one spider as well.

Comments: The approach from 116 is great snowshoeing right now.

WAUMBEK’s post from yesterday pretty much covered it. You’re going to want snowshoes from the Bald Peak junction you to the Ridge, so you may as well just put them on in the parking lot. You really aren’t going to go any faster without them down low.

I tried to pack down the upper part of the Mt. Kinsman Trail as much as possible, but I was one person with snowshoes trying to undo a group effort to rototill the trail.

KRT is prime snowshoeing right now. Relatively packed, little ice, good bite with the shoes...if you enjoy snowshoeing, go get this while the getting is good.
