Nice trek -- very quiet, saw just three other folks out, and no one on the summit.
Only item of note is that there are a few small blue ice bulges forming on the steeps near Beaver Brook, where the snow has been worn off, and light traction (or even traction) is helpful for getting up/down these. Otherwise, snowshoes worked fine the entire way.
In particular, snowshoes higher up, past the Asquam Ridge Trail intersection, where the snow is not consolidated, were very helpful.
Both the Benton Trail and the Asquam Ridge Trail looked broken out. |
