| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Trailhead plowed well. Must roadwalk all of Sawyer River Rd. Road has seen snowmobile traffic so fairly well packed. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The trail is currently broken out to a crossing about 100’ downstream of the normal one. It was doable rock hopping(with snowshoes on). Would be concerning for some. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One or two blowdowns, broke a herd path around one. Anything to avoid crawling under. |

| Comments: |
Trail broken out until around 3500’. Deep drifts(3’+) intermittently from there. Our own trail was partially drifted within a couple hours. The broken path deviates from the actual trail in a few locations as it leaves the river. Ok to follow the incorrect path as it ultimately meeets up with the trail again. Tough hike, steep and deep on a cold day. Bluebird sky and views forever made it all worthwhile. Could wear snowshoes all the way from/to the car but definitely will need them up high. |
