Comments
Comments: From car to top of Jewell I was packing a trail that varied from 4 inches to just above my knees. Went over it twice (except for the beginning mile where I took the Jewell Link at the end of the day). Saw no other hikers so it is not fully packed.

Above treeline I lost the end of the Jewell and ended up on Gulfside, by doing this I skipped about .3 of the Jewell. I chose to do this as well on the way back to save time and energy, it was a hard day. I am very sorry, do not follow my tracks above treeline unless you are going to Jefferson, however you won't get too far off track. From here to Jefferson it varied from ice, rocks, to deep snow. No choice of footwear was ideal, so I barebooted to Jefferson to save my snowshoes the wear and tear of the many rocks. Most of my footprints in Alpine zone were blown over by the time I headed back.
