Comments: Awesome day out with the fresh snow on the ground — wore snowshoes all day. Heading up to Pierce there was one person ahead of me breaking trail (~6" fresh snow) who I passed at the Mizpah Cutoff. From there the snow became a bit deeper, with drifts up to 2 1/2ft. Lots of rabbit tracks on the last mile up to Pierce, think I saw what was a cottontail rabbit and then briefly saw a small fox about 100ft off-trail, very cool! The summit of Pierce was wind-blown. The person I had passed earlier decided to join me and hike over to Jackson. We broke trail for about 3/4mi until we ran into a group heading towards Pierce. The only tricky part on this hike really is the push up to Jackson, there was one big icy section that took a little finagling but we made it around alright with our snowshoes still on. Summit of Jackson was also windblown with snowdrifts and we were totally socked in but it was still fun being up there for a while with the high winds.
