Comments
Comments: Overall, beautiful day and this was a perfect hike for the cold/windy weather today! The only section exposed to the wind was at the summit. Trace to 4 inches of new snow last night (plus minimal drifts toward the top). Wore snowshoes the whole time, was tempted to switch to Hillsounds coming down to grip better on the ice under snow. The generally reliable Tubbs Flex Alp traction wasn’t biting into the ice or packed snow today. The one other trail user I saw today was also wearing snowshoes.

Deep frozen Postholes mentioned in previous report by Alex and Sage went from minor inconvenience during their hike to dangerous hazards today. They are partially or completely concealed by snow, creating some ankle-busting sections of the trail...be careful if you’re doing this one tomorrow..though I’m guessing most trails are presenting a similar scenario at this point. Hopefully our weekend storm will fill those in and everyone wears snowshoes on soft trails from here on out! 😬😬😬
