Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: While we had read other trip reports and went in with a different thought about parking, we found a sliver or patch of woods that was not signed, a bit west of Lover's Lane junction with Grandview Road. We parked about 0.3 mi. west of the this junction, at a small logging area of sorts on the south side of the road, and entered the woods across from here... as it appeared to be unsigned.

Comments
Comments: We climbed northerly, aiming for a point just right of the peak along east ridge as to avoid the cliffy bands. Climbing was steep and slippery as we got higher. Once on the ridge we turned left, or SW towards the peak. The summit was full of whippy logging regrowth and prickers. We searched every high bump and we were about to leave when Fran found a small piece of string on a tree, and a jar (no lid, no log) frozen on the ground. This will have to be replaced.

Mid-slope we found a cool, old, stone lined well at the area where a spring appeared to gush forth. Made us speculate why a farmer would have dug a well so far upslope from his home. Following the spring's runoff downslope, we found a crumbling cistern. Perhaps they were connected in some fashion.

Fun hike with Fran M.
