Comments: 0800-1415 1 other car in parking lot. Temperature ~ 42 degrees. Trail was hard packed 2-4 feet snow especially after previous night of heavy rain. Rain throughtout most of hike to hut. Micro spikes needed for good traction. A few surfaces were bare-rock. Hike from hut began ok saw one other person and dog running down the trail.(extreme sporting) Climb up rock area to summit: Ice frozen surface with some fast running water. Temperature dropped below freezing. Wind picked up 40-50 MPH. Weather changed to frozen rain/sleet to snow. 1-2 in. fell. Summit in sight, wind continueed to increase, conditions deteriorate. Had to stop and turn back. Weather finally cleared at hut. returned via Old Bridal Path, saw 3 other hikers by themselves. Sky now clearing warm at trailhead, blue sky toward Cannon Lafayette still grey. Still a good day TQ
