Comments
Comments: Saw only one other Hiker all day. He was coming up the steep incline to the campsite near the top of Carrigain as I was going down. Both of us were in snowshoes by then. I barebooted until just over the the river crossings on the way in, then snowshoes the rest of the way back to the car. Even the showshoes were sinking on the way out, so the track will be a little choppy once it sets up unless or until covered in snow. Before the next snow, I expect the track should be a frozen highway to the ridge, there was no track to speak of across the ridge and it was spotty beyond. I expect the best bet will be spikes to ridge and snowshoes from there once the freeze comes - at least until the next snow.
