Comments
Comments: Parked at the “picnic table pulloff” on Route 49 near High Brook and started bushwhacking SE, making a direct line towards the col between Middle Acteon Peak and Sachem Peak. The snow was wet and heavy but the snowshoeing conditions were tolerable. Lots of switching between snowshoes and boots since many of the ledges on Acteon Ridge were completely bare, though Sachem itself had about a foot of snow.

Along Acteon Ridge there were misty views to Jennings, Osceola and the two Black Mountains across the Smarts Brook valley. A great trip to Sachem Peak using a really pleasant and direct route.
