Comments
Comments: orange cove trail is well snowmobile travelled. we shortly turned north onto another snowmobile trail that brought us over to the snowmobile trail that runs up from tug mountain road. we followed this to a point west of north catalouchee then bushwhacked up in mostly open woods with some evergreens right around the summit. roughly 6" of new powder over a base made for good snowshoeing. we followed our tracks back for a bit then turned southeast and followed a drainage down in nice open woods to cross the orange road/snowmobile trail around 1800 ft. after negotiating a small drainage we had good open woods right up to the summit of mowglis. snow depths seemed to increase a bit in this area. we then used the Elwell trail and mowglis trail to get back to orange cove trail and the parking. part of Elwell heading up cilleys cave was freshly broken out.
