Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: 1 vehicle spotted on Rt. 3 at Coon Brook parking. Other 3 vehicles on Round Pond Rd. - see Beth Z's TR Round Pond Rd. normally plowed, not icy, but had several inches snow accumulation today. Easy for 4WD vehicles. Probably OK for FWD vehicles with suitable tires when road is plowed.

7 of us snowshoed up to Round Pond Mt.
4 continued to Corkscrew.
Headed SE from Round in unconsolidated snow down to col and then up to Corkscrew to recognized highpoint. From summit, beelined to Rt 3, arriving at road .6 mile S of vehicle at Coon Brook parking.
Encountered 2 cliff bands that were easily skirted.
Total length of hike - 2.25 mile bw + .6 mile road walk.
Breaking snow depth - 8 to 12" fluffy snow.
Grades - all easy, with a few short steeper spots
Vegetation - open to wide open, some tighter young hardwoods
