Comments
Comments: 12 of us went up Nineteen-Mile Brook then up to the Wildcats and down Polecat ski trail.

Nineteen-Mile was well packed and spikes were fine until within 1/4 mile of the junction with Wildcat Ridge trail. After that snow shoes were required. The snow was deep, loose, and difficult getting up to the ridge. Any sign of previous tracks were blown over for much of it. Once we got to the ridge the trail became much easier.

On the ridge, there were many sections fairly well packed from hikers on previous days but still some spots of loose unconsolidated snow and drifts up to 3’ deep to break through. The wind was very strong while we were climbing to the ridge so our tracks may well be blown out but when we got to the ridge the winds quickly died down so that will probably remain nicely broken until the next storm.
