An unexpected and last minute day off sent me to North Kinsman today. 1-3 inches of fresh powder on Mt Kinsman Trail with minor drifting near the top. One could easily wear spikes up to the Bald Peak Spur. I wore snowshoes car to car. The Kinsman Ridge Trail had been "broke out" by 4 bare booters who had come up the eastern trails. I was able to smooth out the trail after them for the 0.4 mile to the summit. Kinsman Ridge Trail was not broke out south of that. |
