Comments
Comments: Barebooted the two miles up Sawyer River Road in a couple inches of snow on snowmobile tracks.
Put snowshoes on at the trailhead, snow started at 2-3 inches at the bottom with 5-8 inches at the top. Broke trail through fresh snow and drifts about 3 feet deep up toward the ridge. Tough going! Group of three passed us at the ridge and broke trail the rest of the way to the top (thanks, guys!)
Excellent snowshoe track was put down by the end of today, five people and three dogs total on the trail today! Snow was still pretty unconsolidated, so hopefully folks use snowshoes tomorrow! Rain and warm temps this weekend will certainly change the trail conditions, but tomorrow would be a perfect day to snowshoe up Carrigain!
