Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I contacted NH DOT on 1/8/20 after reading Jeb Bradley's trip report, and lack of plowing/parking in the actual trail head parking lot. I was told I could park in either of the plowed pull offs on either side of the actual parking lot. The one to the west of the lot is .2 mile from the trail head. On the return trip, I followed snow shoe tracks on the cross country ski trail right to the pull off, eliminating the road walk. I was told that the lot will NOT be plowed due to lack of space of where to put the snow once it's plowed. Too bad.

Comments
Comments: There was enough snow to warrant snow shoes all the way. Quite drifted across the ridge. You wouldn't have known that someone just did this yesterday.
A lot of controlled butt sliding on the way down still in snow shoes. No other way to descend, as the snow is still unconsolidated, and churned up thanks to those in crampons only.
