Eva did great, but some dogs might not care for the icy ledges on Blueberry Ledge Trail. I kept her away from the lookouts with the steep dropoffs on the Rollins Trail. |

No recent reports, so here's the latest. We barebooted to the Blueberry Ledge Tr steeps, then Hillsound spikes to Whiteface summit. Some hard ice in places on the Blueberry ledges beneath the snow. The steepest vertical ledge was more difficult than normal to ascend due to ice. Teamwork helped there. The ridge was heavily drifted in places, so we wore snowshoes for most of Rollins Trail to Dicey's Tr jct. Dicey's Mill Tr firm, so spikes or barebooting both OK. Only limited ice patches up high on Dicey's. Quiet trails, only 1 group of 3 and a solo guy seen all day. Good outing with Vicki, Dick and Eva pup |
