We wore snowshoes from the start until Carter Notch Hut. Polecat ski trail would be fine in microspikes, but snowshoes were necessary from Wildcat D down to Carter Notch Hut. Nineteen Mile Brook Trail is in great condition; we bare-booted a good chunk of it. |
