A pair of red Atlas snowshoes was standing neatly against a tree alongside the CF Trail on the second switchback leg. They appeared to have been stuck in the snow carefully, so I assumed someone was planning to pick them up. |

 | Comments: |
Both trails are well packed, and there is a coating of 1-3" of fresh powder. There is ice underneath in a few places, but it's easily avoidable. Microspikes were helpful. Snowshoes got a free ride, and the crampons stayed warm inside my pack the whole way. Going up and down the very top of Chocorua is a but tricky, so place feet carefully. |
