Several, all easy. |

A few blowdowns but none blocking the trail. Well-packed snowshoe path for practically entire route. A lot of snow on upper part of Avalon Trail. Several step and slippery sections. Light traction, traction or snowshoes with crampons useful. |

I used snowshoes the whole way until part way down the A-Z Trail, when one of my snowshoes started to come apart, and I had to take them off. I switched to 12-point crampons, which worked great. My wife did the whole hike with Stabilicers. Nice, though limited, views near summit of Field and good views, especially of Pemi, from outlook near summit of Tom. |
