Comments
Comments: we followed the gated road (which initially runs west before turning north) until it faded out then bushwhacked up in generally open, sometimes whippy, woods to the east ridge of Melvin hill. some nice gladed woods and conifers from there to the recognized summit. snow was not particularly deep, but continuous coverage made for good snowshoeing. the snow became increasingly wet and sticky as the hike went on.
