 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I tried to park in the area closest to the trailhead. It wasn't plowed and I got stuck a couple times and decided I didn't want to deal with that kind of problem at the end of the hike, so I found better parking over by the highway tunnel. I have an s-box Civic, other cars were able to use the closer parking. |

The monorail was firm, though softening due to the warm temps. It was a case of consolidating the top two inches of stuff on top of the monorail. Most folks were in spikes. I tried to do it all in snowshoes, but had to switch to crampons briefly to get up that last little tricky spot on Fishin' Jimmy. Went back to snowshoes after, and managed to get down that same spot in snowshoes on the way back. You do get better with practice.
All white up top, no views today. (And you know what that means. Yep, have to go back. There's just no getting around it!!)
Talked to some nice folks up there.
#27 & #28 for the old man.
