Comments
Comments: A group of seven of us broke out the trail from parking lot to summit on 1/1/20. All wore snowshoes the entire time. Our biggest off-trail mishap was right below the tent site--stay to the left here and you'll be fine.

Engine Hill bushwhack was fairly easy and uneventful. Kept it out of the muck and tried to avoid unnecessary ups & downs.

Probably wise to rock the snowshoes on this one for a while, or at least until a thaw/re-freeze. Even with seven of us doing the out-and-back in snowshoes, it's still soft and bare-booting it would be a pretty miserable experience. There's a foot of snow down low and multiple feet at elevation.
