Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The lot was plowed out and full with 4 cars when I arrived. I parked on a plowed out section across the street. When I left, the lot had two cars and one other car had joined me across the street. Red Hill Road is partially a dirt road, but well plowed and well maintained.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The bridge on Red Hill Trail is in great condition. There were two small water crossings that had a little mud, but were easy step-overs.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trails are very well blazed and easily followed. A big thanks to the Lakes Region Conservation Trust and all of the volunteers!

Comments
Comments: What a beautiful day. I took the Red Hill Trail up and the Cabin Trail down. The trail is a steady slope all the way up. Snowshoes were the order of the day going up, and I wore them car-to-car. Going down the Cabin Trail, you could get away with light traction or even bare booting, as a lot of the Cabin Trail runs along a snowmobile route. I saw 4 snowmobilers out there. No blow-downs or hangers of note. There's a newer-looking sign warning of aggressive owls, and an older-looking sign warning of black bear sightings. I didn't see any wildlife out there other than some singing birds, but I did see tracks in the snow that appeared to be deer, rabbits, and squirrels. The descent down the Cabin Trail was very easy compared to the ascent. The views from the fire tower at the summit were unbelievable - full 360 views including Squam Lake, Lake Winnipesaukee, Chocorua, the Sandwich Range, and so much more. This was my first time doing this hike, and I'll do it again.
