Comments
Comments: the road was packed by numerous recreational activities to start. lesser travelled higher up, but still had tracks from a snow cat of some kind and some snowshoe/boot tracks. the first section of black cap trail was snowmobile travelled. once on the foot trail to the summit it was broken out, but pretty badly postholed. a bit smoother after snowshoes today. nice views from the summit. back at hurricane mountain road I walked west a short distance to a trail leaving towards Hurricane. major blowdown right at the start of the trail, but after that it made for a nice alternative to an otherwise steep bushwhack. 8-12 inches of new snow in general with some drifting. i must have missed a right hand turn up hill and the old trail i stayed on petered out so i made a short bushwhack through conifer forest up to the summit area near the highpoint. i followed my tracks back down to the road and out.
