Comments
Comments: 3 of us doing light trailbreaking through 4 inches of dense snow. Turned around at the summit of Goat Pasture Hill because of a moose. The moose was bedded near the summit (odd place to be) maybe 100 feet off trail and walked away from us for a bit, but then circled and was heading towards us, hair raised. Never got close to us, and we eventually lost sight. But...we decided the moose was too unpredictable and backtracked to Blue Trail rather than tempt a charge. Then we tagged all of Yellow Trail on Mt. Shannon (double summit!) before circling back to the parking lot. Only one other group seen--a couple barebooting through the nice trench we'd laid down. Oh well.
