| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Lot is icy. I had no issues driving in slowly but 4WD truck was spinning all 4 tires entering shortly after. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Used the old trail which has 3 crossings. Lowest one could potentially be foot soaker but stepping stones have been nicely placed since my last hike here and this along with low flow rate made for easy crossing today. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Few blowdowns but none that cause any off trail usage. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
2 or 3 having a nice day. Other than tower should be fine for most. |

| Bugs: |

|
| Lost and Found: |
Reunited a grateful hiker with his Black Diamond poles. |

Can't imagine it being any better than it was today. Comfy temps, low wind, great views and the best trail conditions I've ever had for Carrigain. Only place not hard packed was the old trail option for the middle relocated section. Lower, first climb was combo of ice and exposed rocks; only unenjoyable part. Rest of hike was mostly sidewalk conditions (that I've heard about but seen little of thus far). Even the 2 or 3 sketchy sections on climb were easily gotten across. Beaten spikes all day with shoes and sharper traction going along for the ride today. Nice to match some faces with the internet world. Conditions most likely changing soon. |
