Absolutely a great hike! Trails in great condition, no blow downs water bars cleaned out... Thank You! Lots of ice but micro spikes worked all day. Mono rail all alone the Ridge. No need for snowshoes. Broke tree line to low clouds no views. Sun trying to burn thru....wasn't too hopeful. Then before I could get to North the skies cleared! Perfect timing! Amazing 360 views from original South summit. Franconia Ridge was amazing. Views into Maine & Vermont. Don't miss Bald Peak, easy 5-10 min hike to a beautiful spot! Lots of people out enjoying the great weather before the storm. I'm sure these trails will change after the snow but be aware. Lots of ice on trails.....suspect snow bridge water crossings. |
